Elementary School Mathematics Application Problem Workbook
I was commissioned by the editors of East China Normal University Press to create illustrations for a set of 12 elementary school mathematics workbooks focused on solving word problems. Over the course of the project, I designed and illustrated several hundred images tailored to the visual preferences and learning needs of young students in lower grades. The illustrations are characterized by their clarity, playfulness, and vibrant colors, blending seamlessly with the mathematical content. By using simple layouts and creating engaging real-life scenarios, the visuals help students intuitively connect with the problems, making math learning both enjoyable and effective. These carefully crafted illustrations not only met the publisher's high standards but were also well-received by the editors, who praised their quality and usability. As a result, my work was adopted as a benchmark for illustrations in subsequent similar publications. The first edition of this series was published with an impressive print run of 16,000 copies per book, totaling 192,000 copies across the 12-book set. This project demonstrates my ability to create impactful educational illustrations that resonate with both children and educators, enhancing learning through design.
